You’re able to start Sisterlocks with at least 2 inches of new growth, some consultants perfer more new growth. The only part of your hair that will be locked is the new growth as permed hair won’t lock. What generally happens is once the locks grow out to your desired length the permed hair is trimmed off. We view Sisterlocks as a lifestyle not just a hairstyle, we encourage clients to do their homework and see if it’s the right journey for them. Sisterlocks can be removed if done so before the hair actually locks, after the hair locks it’s more difficult to undo them and very costly as well.
